Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens — The grandest of Grand Rapids outdoor summer concert series — bringing musicians both national and international to the Meijer Gardens Amphitheater, June 6 – September 18. Enjoy gorgeous, terraced lawn seating — enveloped in lush gardens and breathtaking sculpture — while you take in performances by artists ranging from Buddy Guy to Steve Miller Band, Old Crow Medicine Show to Foreigner, Styx to Sarah McLachlan — even Calexico and Iron & Wine! But, snag your tickets soon; true to form, many of these star-studded shows are already sold out!
D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops — Epic, outdoor musical performances by the Grand Rapids Symphony, set to a sunset backdrop at Cannonsburg Ski Area. Enjoy three seating options: lawn seating on the grassy hill, reserved chair seating, or table seating for groups of eight (closest to the stage). Bring your own food and beverages or purchase from vendors on-site, and consider buying a 3-Concert Summer Series Package for even more enjoyment — including Motown, The Beatles, and the iconic Classic Fireworks show!
GRAM on the Green — Grand Rapids Art Museum’s rain-or-shine outdoor summer concert series, held seven weeks across July and August on the stunning Museum Terrace. Enjoy local and regional musicians, dancing, and drinks — all alongside flavors from some of the best food trucks in town! After the show, step inside to cool off and explore the GRAM’s galleries (with free admission!) until 9 p.m., courtesy of Meijer Free Thursday Nights.
Relax at Rosa — Lunchtime concert series at Rosa Parks Circle, held every Thursday from May 2 – September 19. Enjoy musicians from Mark Lavengood to The Appleseed Collective while you sample from any of eight food trucks on-site daily and soak up the fresh air and sunshine!
97LAV Summertime Blues (formerly Blues on the Mall) — Mark your calendars and plan to head to The DeltaPlex every Wednesday evening, June 12 – August 14 (excluding 4th of July week) for this blues-filled concert series. Gates open at 6 p.m. for these free-admission shows, and, while the lineup hasn’t been released just yet, get ready to be moved by the smooth, bluesy tunes!
Jazz in the Park — Free, Monday night summer concert series from mid-June to mid-August, held in a huge, urban park with modern amenities — Millennium Park Meadows. Spread your blankets out on the lawns near the Grant Pavilion on the Park’s east end — and even pack a picnic with your favorite adult beverages to pair with the smooth sounds of live jazz!
Lowell Showboat Sizzlin’ Summer Concerts — Free outdoor concerts at the Riverwalk Plaza along downtown Lowell’s Flat River, held every Thursday from June 13 – August 22. Listen to a Tom Petty tribute band or take a trip back to the Woodstock era with Magic Bus — and be sure to catch the incredible collection of local Grand Rapids musicians on this lineup!
Kentwood Summer Concert Series — Eclectic lineup of Thursday evening concerts with dates stretching from late-June to early-August. Bring a lawn chair or blanket — even your own beer or wine — and stretch out on the lawns behind Kentwood City Hall for bands from That Beatles Thing (June 20) to The Crane Wives (July 25). Whichever shows you choose, save room to sample from on-site food trucks like Porter’s Smokehouse while you soak up the summer tunes!
Rogue River Blues Series — Free Tuesday night concerts at Garden Park near the Rockford dam, with a lineup ranging from The Crane Wives to Hannah Rose and the GravesTones.
Celadon Summer Concert Series — Free, BYOB summer concert series stretching from June – August, with artists ranging from Deerfield Run to Macey Krew Music. Enjoy on-site food vendors like El Caribe and Tengo Tamales at these all-ages-welcome concerts.
Consumers CU Concerts in the Park — June & July Monday night concert series with a yet-to-be-released lineup, held at East Grand Rapids’ beautiful John Collins Park. Bring a lawn chair and picnic basket and head to these family-friendly shows!
